What’s your creative specialty?
Abstract oil and mixed media paintings
How did you start?
I was babysitting for an interior designer, Heather Roberts of Ivy & Vine, and she asked me to do a painting for a project of hers. I had never painted before, but have been around art my whole life—my mother, aunt, and grandma are all artists, and my mom owns agallery in Atlanta. I loved getting to work on that piece, and chose to run with it further!
How do you gain/gather inspiration? What do you do to get recharged?
I am always inspired by other artists and their work. I grew up admiring the unbelievably talented and creative artists represented by my mother’s gallery, and always lean on their expertise and guidance for inspiration. I also love color and space and am continuously inspired by interior design.
What’s your favorite thing about creating?
My favorite part about creating is getting the opportunity to express myself and practice what I love. It’s so rewarding to see a piece come to life through the various iterations and challenges that might be presented.
What advice would you give your younger creative self?
Keep going, you’re on the right path!!
