Susie is a coastal southerner, living in Florida. She studied art at Baylor University and University of Texas in Arlington.

What’s your creative specialty?

Painting

How did you start? 

I started by hand painting invitations and stationery nearly 25 years ago.

How do you gain/gather inspiration? What do you do to get recharged? 

My geographic surroundings are where most of my inspiration comes from.  For the past 15 years, we have split our time between Jupiter, FL and 30A.  The best of both Floridas is hard to beat for me.  We've now added Texas back into the mix which is an entirely different form of inspiration that still wows me with all the wide open spaces. 

What’s your favorite thing about creating? 

It's a form of communication for me.  I can't NOT create in some way. 

What advice would you give your younger creative self? 

Be patient with the development of your talents.
