The Holidays are officially here! Christmas is our favorite season, and we’re those folks who decorate On November 1st! How could you not love the festivities and joy of this season! We’re so excited to be back this week with another artist spotlight!  Shelly Deriso is a fine artist based out of Atlanta, Georgia. After retiring from the stressful mindset of corporate America, she rekindled her childhood passion for art.

We’re back with another super fun guest feature! Patricia Maristch is an entrepreneur, blogger, and PR guru from Philadelphia. Her interests are fashion, interiors, and travel. Patricia is an Allie & Elle scarf lover, and we had the pleasure of talking to her about her scarf and her business endeavors.

We’re so excited to be back this week with another artist spotlight!  Shelby Monteverde is a fine artist based out of Memphis, Tennessee. Art has lived in Shelby forever and she, now, paints full time. She believes we all should find joy in the mundane. 

The best thing about a great scarf is that it can last for decades! The essential part of long lasting scarves is taking proper care. The fibers in a silk blend scarf are very gentle and do best when hand washed; the agitation from the gentle cycle is too much for a delicate silk blend.

Scarves are a really fun way to elevate an outfit that may otherwise feel… well… blah! There are so many ways we love to wear our scarves, whether it’s around your neck, on your wrist, or tied on your purse strap. You can’t go wrong with a fun accessory! 

Caroline Stroud is an artist based in Atlanta, Georgia. She began painting as a hobby (or side-hustle??) in college and now has the privilege to be a full time artist!

Emmie Ruth is born and raised in Columbus, Georgia "practically with a colored pencil in her hand", she says! She gained interest in architecture started in college when she painted buildings for commission. She ultimately obtained a degree in  Product Design from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a certificate in Classical Architecture from the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art. After college, she worked for a high-end architecture firm in New York for a short time!

Melissa Payne Baker is a southern artist painting out of Atlanta, Georgia. She has been published in Traditional Homes, House Beautiful, Southern Home, Southern Lady, Cottage Journal, The Atlantan, Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles, VIE to Nashville Arts. Check out Melissa’s work on her website and instagram and tell her thanks for sharing her answers with us!
